TILLY THE TRAVELLING TEA ROOM

Home of The Wren’s Nest
The vintage party venue that comes to you – with a family touch

Tilly is a lovingly restored 1960s Thomson Mini Glen caravan, full of character and vintage charm. She’s the centrepiece of our travelling tearoom – bringing afternoon teas, cakes, and celebrations to gardens, greens, and gatherings across the country.

For us, The Wren’s Nest is the heart within Tilly: a family dream come true, where warmth, hospitality, and plenty of tea make every guest feel at home.

Whether it’s a wedding, christening, birthday, corporate gathering, or simply a reason to celebrate with friends, Tilly turns every event into a special occasion.

Meet the Family

TILLY THE TRAVELLING TEA ROOM is run by the Wren family – Jane and her four daughters, Alice, Eliza, Jemima, and Mabel – who together bring a warm, family touch to every event. The girls have always dreamed of owning their own tearoom, and The Wren’s Nest is their vision come true, nestled within Tilly’s vintage charm.

Jane and her daughters have been cooking together since the girls were small. What began as family fun has become second nature – a kitchen full of laughter, fresh ingredients, and time-honoured recipes. For years, they’ve even catered for the local cricket team, purely for the pleasure of it.

Home cooking, when done with care and time-tested ingredients, is hard to beat. The flavours are subtle, the joy unmistakable – and that’s the secret ingredient behind every plate they serve.

“We love cooking, we love entertaining, and most of all, we love seeing people happy. Tilly gives us the chance to share that joy, meet wonderful people, and help make their celebrations that little bit more special.”

Tilly’s Story

Built in the 1960s in Falkirk, Scotland, Tilly was designed to be towed by an Austin Mini. She’s a rare Thomson Mini Glen caravan and has been lovingly restored to her former glory.

Inside, she boasts a working kitchen with sink, fridge, tea urn, and gas burner, plus a cosy seating area dressed in vintage fabrics. Outside, we can attach a canopy to give shade or shelter – perfect for the unpredictable English weather.

Tilly is more than just a caravan – she’s a little piece of history, and now she’s part of our family too.
